St. John’s Temple has undertaken six projects in recent years for the people of Tshelanyemba. In 2007 a volunteer team built a three unit building for nursing students to live in after training. In 2008, a 40’ shipping container was filled and delivered to the hospital with medical supplies, a back-up diesel generator, and a phone system. In 2009, a volunteer team again travelled to Tshelanyemba constructing another three-unit residence and installed the new phone system to over 70 locations on the hospital grounds.

In 2011, another container was filled, this time with medical and plumbing supplies along with a mini-excavator. In 2012 a team of volunteers travelled to Tshelanyemba to upgrade the water system. In addition, a dedicated medical team of 4 travelled to assist in teach at the hospital. For more information on the 2012 project, CLICK HERE.

The team returned again in 2014 to continue the water project started in 2012, complete improvements to the hospital agriculture garden, complete much needed repairs at the hospital and fund an artesian well for a nearby community. For more information on the 2014 project, CLICK HERE.

In 2015 The Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest in partnership with The Salvation Army St. John’s Temple, sent a forty foot shipping container to Tshelanyemba Hospital filled with hospital, community and school supplies. A Team of 8 travelled to Zimbabwe in September 2015 to distribute the supplies, and complete number of tasks at the Hospital and in the community.
