Since 2007, The Salvation Army – St. John’s Temple have been working to improve health care in Tshelanyemba Zimbabwe. Visits by teams in 2007 and 2009 consisted of constructing much needed apartments for staff nurses, upgrading other living quarters and installing a new hospital telephone system. The visit in 2012 focused on improving water infrastructure at the facility and providing medical support.  The team returned again in 2014 to continue the water project started in 2012, complete improvements to the hospital agriculture garden, complete much needed repairs at the hospital and fund an artesian well for a nearby community.

Prior to the 2009 and 2012 visits, 40’ containers filled with medical, household items, clothing and construction materials for the projects were shipped from St. John’s to the Hospital.

In 2015, the Salvation Army, St. John's Temple in partnership with the Rotary Club of St. John's Northwest visited the site to distribute supplies shipped in a 40' container earlier in the year as well as assist with various tasks at the Hospital and in the community.
