In addition to the funds already raised we will need to raise another $30,000 to meet our objectives. The funds will support the on going water project and fence the agricultural area that the local hospital uses. As part of the St. John's Temple website refresh we have moved the site for the International Missions. Be sure to check out the information on our previous mission trips to Tshelanyemba, Zimbabwe, especially our updated summary of our 2012 project.
We have received reports that on April 21, 2013 a severe hail storm struck Tshelanyemba. The storm only lasted 15 minutes however the huge hail stones caused vast destruction. Many roofs were damaged with many holes as big as tennis balls and some "allow a size 9 boot through easily. Over 470 roof sheets have been damaged and 340 window panes have been broken. All solar panels have been damaged as well and large trees uprooted.
The staff are very thankful that only one major soft tissue injury was reported.
