What We Believe
At The Salvation Army St. John’s Temple, we hold to the core Christian beliefs that unite us in faith and purpose. We believe in the triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we are offered grace, forgiveness, and eternal life. We also believe in living out our faith through acts of compassion, service, and justice, following the example of Christ. We seek to be a church where all people are treated with dignity, respect, and love, and where the Good News of Jesus is shared through both word and action. Our mission is simple: to love God, love others, and serve the world.

Plan A Visit – We’d love to welcome you!
Visiting a new church can feel like a big step, but we’re here to make your experience as welcoming and comfortable as possible. Whether you’re just starting your faith journey, returning to church, or seeking a new community, we invite you to join us for one of our services. Our team is excited to meet you, answer any questions you might have, and help you connect with the right people. When you visit The Salvation Army St. John’s Temple, you’ll find a place where love, grace, and community are at the heart of everything we do.
Check out a Sunday morning at our church!
Sunday is a time for our church family to come together in worship, prayer, and reflection. During our services, we share music, Scripture, and a message centred on faith and daily living. Whether you are joining us in person or connecting later through our sermons, Sundays offer a meaningful space to pause, listen, and grow. We welcome you to explore the message from our most recent service or take time to look through previous Sunday teachings.
What about my kids?
We believe that children are an important part of our church family! At The Salvation Army St. John’s Temple, we offer a range of fun and engaging programs designed to help kids grow in their faith while having a great time. From our Sunday School classes to youth groups and family events, we aim to create a safe, welcoming environment where children can learn about God in ways that are relevant to their lives. Our team of caring volunteers and staff ensures that every child feels valued and supported, and that parents have peace of mind knowing their kids are in good hands. Whether they’re infants or teens, your children will be loved and encouraged to grow in Christ.

Yes, St. John's Temple property includes a large parking lot and you can feel free to park in any available space.
Come as you are! You will see some of our members wearing a Salvation Army uniform including our pastors (see FAQ on uniform wearing), however, the majority dress in regular everyday clothing. Wear whatever it is that makes you feel comfortable.
Absolutely! We have greeters at our main entrance and they will be happy to welcome you, provide guidance and answer any questions you may have.
Yes, we take time in our service to worship the Lord through the giving of our tithes and offerings - this is done through the passing of a collection plate. The church relies on the contribution of its members to operate and fulfill its mission and ministry. No one is obligated to give, so no need to feel bad if you come unprepared or unable to contribute. We will be more than grateful that you have come to share in worship with us.
Our Sunday Worship services are usually 1.5 hours long. We start at 11:00am and usually end by 12:30pm. However, if you need to arrive a little later or duck out a few minutes early, that is no problem!
Our worship style is a blend of contemporary and traditional. You will hear music from talented musicians and will include a brass band, worship team, vocalists, and other special musical selections.
Absolutely! We love the sounds of kids in our church - we are quite used to receiving an audible affirmation from the kids who want to let us know they are there. It is a sign of life and a church that has a future. There is also a time set aside during our worship service for the Children (led by our Youth Pastor). We have a quiet room for parents if needed, bathrooms equipped with change tables, and Sunday School is held during the second half of the service.
