About Us
Our Story
St. John’s Temple began in 1885 with revival meetings led by Emma (Churchill) Dawson and her husband, marking the start of Salvation Army ministry in Newfoundland. Over the years, the congregation served St. John’s from several locations - most notably downtown for 95 years - reaching the community through worship, outreach, music, and broadcast ministry. Since moving to Torbay Road in 1981, St. John’s Temple continues its long-standing mission with the same enduring message: Christ died for all.

Our Team
At the heart of St. John’s Temple is a leadership team dedicated to guiding and nurturing our community in faith. Led by pastors Bradley & Jennifer Reid, our team brings a passion for Christ and a deep commitment to serving others. With years of ministry experience, they lead with authenticity, compassion, and a heart for outreach. Together, they inspire us to live out our faith in everyday life, encouraging us to grow spiritually, serve others, and make a lasting impact on our community. Their vision is to create a church where everyone — no matter their background or walk of life — can find love, belonging, and purpose.
